PRIVATE LEssons
I offer weekly lessons of 30, 45, 60, or 75 minutes from my home studio in the Brighton area (in-person and online). I am trained in the Suzuki Method and am committed to lifelong learning, taking regular trainings to maintain and expand my knowledge.
The following lesson lengths are recommended:
-
30-minute lessons for Pre-Twinkle-Book 1
-
45-minute lessons for Adult Students and Books 2-3
-
60 minute lessons for Book 4+
-
75 minute lessons for college prep/orchestra music assistance

New students are encouraged to commit to one year of study to learn the basics of posture and technique and get to the fun part of learning and playing many songs with ease. Tuition in my studio includes weekly lessons, quarterly group classes, two yearly recitals with piano accompaniment, as well as the offerings listed below. Please inquire about tuition information and studio policies.

performance
opportunities
We hold two recitals with piano accompaniment in our studio each year. We present a formal recital in the winter and a more casual service based recital at an elderly community in the spring. Advanced students (Suzuki Books 3+) are also featured in a Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra pre-concert performance in the lobby of the Eastman Theater.
Virtual Lesson Notes
Though I encourage caretakers to take their own detailed notes for their violinists in lessons, I also take digital notes in a private Google Doc that is shared with caretakers. Families can then double check practice spots and find answers to questions that may come up at home. Emails for clarification during the week are always welcome!
Compassionate support and teamwork
When you walk into the studio, you and your child are welcomed into a judgement-free zone, where we collaborate as a team to work through challenges. Caretakers are active participants in our program, attending lessons and group classes with their children. My teaching philosophy is based on the "gentle parenting" approach, which enables us to approach all situations with compassion and curiosity.
QUARTERLY Group CLasses
Group classes are included with private lesson tuition and provide an opportunity to build community and friendships with other violinists and their families. Group classes are a great way to experience the joy of making music together.
Online Video Library
Families have access to a video library I have recorded of all pieces and songs from the pre-twinkles and Suzuki Book 1-3. This will help your student to hear, see, and sing along with the pieces learned in lessons.
TRAINED Instruction
As a musician and instructor, I am committed to continuing education. I take regular trainings to maintain and expand my skills as an educator and violinist. These trainings allow me to work to meet the needs of all students with a variety of learning styles.
